Under the ‘Raw with Benefits‘ gorgeous eating system, I am free!
I am no longer a slave.
Jean-Leon Gérôme – A Roman Slave Market [c.1884]
To food.
Claire Richards – Slave to Food
Similar to that first year after Bulimia, I’ve found my way. I do not count calories, but I know how much I’m eating. I do not plan meals, I rather eat when I’m hungry. No day is the same. Each day is different. I do not think about overeating because I simply do not have that urge. And I’m losing weight! Down six pounds from the first of January, the size 2 jeans zipped semi-comfortably this week. Absolutely fabulous!
This WIAW provides recapture of yesterday’s food! Yay!
Nine o’clock in the morning.
Noon.
Two o’clock in the afternoon. Quick lunch prepared by my gorgeous friend, my raw nutrition mentor. Pictured food is Kimchi and Green Smoothie consisting of burdock, spirulina, maca root powder, chlorella, blueberries, kale, mung bean sprouts, coconut water, and apples.
Ladies, want to make your man hot for Valentine’s Day? Slip him some Maca Powder! It’s a Valentine Aphrodisiac. According to ‘Superfoods: The Food and Medicine of the Future‘ by David Wolfe, “Legend has it that during the height of the Incan empire, Incan warriors would consume maca before entering into battle to make them fiercely strong, but after conquering a city, the Incan soldiers were prohibited from using maca, to protect the women from the excessive sexual desire of the men.” … I don’t know about you, girlfriends, but I sure wouldn’t mind a big strong Incan soldier holding me captive for an hour. ;)
Four o’clock in the afternoon. Dehydrated coconut pieces from San Francisco! They tasted like bacon! (2 – 3 T worth).
And a mashed avocado.
Six thirty in the evening, one cucumber!
Ten thirty in the nighttime, preparation!
Serve. One for the housemate! One for me! Repeat once.
What surprises are you planning for Valentine’s Day?

I love that you still use the Kate Spade wallet that I purchased for you :-)
Yes. It shall not be routed to Good Will, yo promisio. :)
I’m glad the raw diet does wonders for you.
I’d tried it several years ago but it did not last a week, just because I was bloated as hell and looked five months pregnant. Oh, and the gas…
As for the Valentines… Me and my man are not the fans. It’s just too fake for me. But I guess we’ll have some wine for the sake of occasion.
Btw, have you find your Valentine yet? Roommate? ;)
I love to hear about the effects of raw on different bodies!!! And I love that you shall be sharing wine with your hunk. Please stay tunes for my Valentine’s Day post to discover the identity of my wonderful Valentine. ;) xo
Looks like a fab Vanentine’s Day! My husband and I have dinner plans at a French brasserie, and some surprise gifts. Cheers!
Your Valentine’s Day sounds so romantic!!! I just exclaimed, “awwwwwwwww” out loud:)
Inspiring how far you can make one cucumber go! That’s one of my current portion-limiting tactics — make it LOOK like there’s more food on my plate, thereby tricking my own brain into feeling less hungry!
Yes! Food, for me, when I’m in such a relaxed state of consumption (as I exist under this raw with benefits lifestyle), is all about the pretty, careful, minimal design. I am so happy that my cucumber inspired you:)
I have a question. Not quite sure if this was discussed earlier in your blog or not, but I recall a post by you in which you said you thought you were asexual. That the idea of having sex with a person didn’t appeal to you. I can’t find that post, but from this post, it doesn’t quite seem like you’re an asexual girl anymore, are you? ;)
So what happened? Was it a phase you were going through? Were you disinterested in having sex with a particular person, and you generalized that for all men? Or were you just mistaken?
I know that the question is a little too personal in nature, so I won’t mind if you choose not to answer.
There is a very specific type of man to whom I’m attracted. Sex is a game to me. I like controlling powerful men with my body. I do not achieve physical pleasure from sex with a partner. Even on the few very rare occasions where I’ve had the big O with a partner, I’d much rather have done it alone. Ta da:)
‘Sex is a game to me. I like controlling powerful men with my body.’ – Yes that aspect IS very nice isn’t it? :D
Happy Valentines’ Day btw! :*
And I played the game just last night.
And it was good.
Ha ha ;)
Happy Valentine’s Day, mademoiselle!!!
How do you determine who wins? :P
I always win.
“What surprises are you planning for Valentine’s Day?”
We had dinner reservations at a great little French restaurant that we haven’t visited since last year on Valentine’s Day, but the husband woke up with a bad cold this morning, so I just canceled the reservation. We will probably spend V.D. at home, watching a movie, while he whines about being sick ; )
That avocado made me hungry. I found a great tasting avocado this week at a local grocer, which surprised me at this time of year!
I know it’s healthy, but the green smoothie description made me wince. LOL!!
Did you have wine whilst the hubby whined? I do hope so. ;) xo
GIMMIE some of that maca root! I want my man NEKEEEDD by the time 9pm rolls around! HAhaha. I would love to try those toasted coconuts, nommm.
OMG!!!!!!!!!
You little hussy!!!
J’adore it!!! :)
You know me Nicolette and what I think! 1000 calories total a day of anything (even donuts) will make you lose weight. I lost weight in my days eating bread the whole day, 1200 calories of it. Please be careful to not under-eat ever. I say that because I care for you and want you happy for a long time, not for the short-lived skinniness you will enjoy by under-eating. :(You will become a slave again. Maybe I need to stop bugging you with that. But I felt I should at least always express my care. I love that first painting, btw. That woman looks so graceful, even though her body is not my ideal. Beautiful. And I love that you’re into raw foods, for some reason. I think it suits you well!
I love you!
Francoise
I shall be replying to this comment with its very own blog article. I love you, and Happy Valentine’s Day!!!
I’m happy your new diet works so well for you! :)
No Valentine’s Day for me – I never got warm with it, and this year, although being with someone, I spent the day sick and in bed. :D
I think that based upon your status message of earlier today, you are quite happily enjoying a post Valentine’s Day celebration. ;)
Yes I have :D
