If you could have the perfect friend, with good sex on the side, would you?
Friends with benefits?
Say, with George Clooney?
David Beckham?
Ryan Gosling?
Sounds perfectly exciting, yes?
Same holds true for my new dietary lifestyle, Raw with Benefits, which has worked superbly for a fortnight! I’ve gained energy, lost weight, and have not been happier in so long!!!!!!!!! Nothing has worked like this, during my 11 years of Bulimia and now almost three years without. Here is me, after a 24-hour day of production, resulting from the energy provided by this diet. Quite expended, but still wide awake.
And here is what I ate, on Monday.
Meal one. A box of vegan cheesy kale with banana bread bar, sprinkled in Sea Salt.
Meal two. Garden Pâte, wrapped into Nori.
Concocted by my gorgeous friend!
Inspired by Ani Phyo‘s Garden Pâte, as presented in her book, ‘Ani’s Raw Food Kitchen’. Add kimchi. Delicious!!!!!!!!!
Meal Four.
Two of these! Gin and olives, benefits.
And a bowl of two bananas with raisin. Raisins, benefits (I think!).
The end!
What do you think about benefits, with regard to relationships or food?

I tend to be absolute, both about food and relationships (not that I’d know much about the latter). I think being able to see things ‘with benefits’ can certainly be advantageous – it stops the all/nothing cycle. I failed as a raw foodist primarily because I ‘had’ to be 100% raw, or there was ‘no point.’ I f**k up at veganism sometimes (though not for a year now) when bingeing or copying 0% bodyfat lifting bloggers but I don’t feel comfortable with it or view it with anything but self-loathing, and I feel better being 100% whatever I deem appropriate, which is primarily vegan but not raw (I only say primarily because if I was THAT committed I wouldn’t have messed up several times in 2011/early 2012).
I’d be the same with relationships – I fall not 100 but 10000% for people. There are no ‘with benefits’ aspects to that – I guess I’m the female version of Heathcliff (emotionally that is) – I’d be such a bunny-boiling stalker. I’m an obsessive person about every aspect of my life.

Oh, dahling, I understand!!! For eight years, I was OBSESSED with Sir Henry (Mac ‘n Cheese). My binge man. There were a few others, too, in the shuffle. But during those terrible experiences, I was able to change that focus from them to ME. The only thing in this world that I love more than myself is Gwendolyn. But what mother doesn’t love her baby more? Through my rejection by men, I was able to find myself. Nowadays, I can care about a man, but I feel no need to worry about his life outside of me because that sector is not about me. And only I matter. I want you to adore yourself some day, too. xo
Im so happy that you feel so happy on this lifestyle! And your food looks delicious! I would love that kale for breakfast too, I just cant get enough kale.
You must check out today’s lunch concoction!!!!!!!!! Posted to my N&G FB page. DELICIOUS.
I am all about the benefits baby!! Vegan with benefits for me. Haven’t had dairy in LONG LONG time, but if I travel I will be eating the food of the land!
Absolutely gorgeous!
I want to read about how ethics v. nutrition v. keeping a thin bod play a role into your eating decisions!
Write something interesting now, bitch! :)
I think being friends with benefits would Not work for me. I would start becoming possessive, I’ll want to be the Only One in his life, I’d want him to treat me differently from his other girl friends.
With food however, I don’t really have a specific diet to stick to. Anything goes, as far as I’m enjoying it. Luckily for me, stuff that I enjoy tend to be on the healthier side :D
PS. Sleepy Gwendolyn with her furrowed brows looks adorable!
Gwendolyn is the sweetest little snuggle machine in the entire world. I actually laid in bed until 7:30 this morning because she was so drastically comfy! At your age FWB wouldn’t have worked for me either. Then again, back then, I was a socialist. :) xo
YOU were a socialist at my age!! Do you look back and think you were so naive back then? It’s so typical though. People grow up and change and then they stop associating their present selves with their embarrassing past personas :P
Aww, Gwendolyn! I can imagine :)
In the winters, the last thing you want to do is get up from your super comfy bed. I never get up even at 7.30 in the winters! Hah. Lazy ass I am.
I was.
And it’s presently 3:57am, and we are snuggling. :) xo
How do you stay up till 4, and then wake up at 7?
Normally bed at midnight, up at 3.
The second photo of Mila and JT with milkshake and whipped cream disturbs me…sadly…but love the idea of bananas with raisins! The other day I binged on raisins though, so kind of having mixed feelings about them right now, but still love them.
Raisins are love and hate for me. I normally must save about 750 calories when I’ll be eating them because I’ll eat them all… And does Mila think she’s convincing anyone that she eats such items? Ha! ;)
I know, 300 kcal per 100 grams…sucks that they’re so energy dense, and also the fact that I know that. What you said about Mila, that reminded me of Carrie Bradshaw; I mean come on, a girl does not get to not exercise (“Shopping is my cardio”, excuse me!), eat out every night and be that tiny!
Hahahahahahahaha! I am currently viewing the latest episode of “The Carrie Diaries” on Cw.com! OMG, it is very well done. And correct. Carrie Bradshaw was a yoga and pilates duchess. She fooled not a single one of us. But she is gorgeous and disciplined commands our respect. ;)
I’m loving The Carrie Diaries too! And true, Carrie managed to always eat with discipline. I don’t think I could have put down a flan like she did.
Oranges in bed! :)
In that case, good morning :)
