Temperatures, soaring to the mid 40s, created a gorgeous breath of fresh winter air on this pretty Saturday! And not only did temps feel quite lovely, but I did NOT feel suffocated by my fat. I wanted to scream with happiness! The cycling, the yoga, and the clean eating is paying off so perfectly! So we went to Starbucks, snapping photographs of ourselves at the drive-thru!
Finding a few precious hours away from clients, we strutted up and down the streets of Mount Lebanon, wearing my signature Lululemon Athletica Run Swiftly skirt, legs looking fine, confident nose in the air. A handsome man, driving a Mercedes SUV turned his head. I felt on my game. Gwendolyn wore nothing but her teeny tiny waist. And oh, she looked fabulous! The sweetest, cutest, most perfect shopping partner in the entire galaxy. I LOVE HER.
First stop! To buy a pressie for our friend and nutritionist Becky! Over the last few weeks, she’s concocted the most gorgeous lunches for us! More on “lunch” tomorrow (and it’s a dramatic Eating Disordered type article, so stay tuned!)… but here’s an example of something delicious from Becky.
That would be vegan raw cashew cheese wrapped into Nori, Maui Kale Chips, and a dash of happiness! That dash is very expensive in the spice aisle, so you simply must find a friend who can provide it, pro bono. To demonstrate our appreciation, we bought Becky a pressie from the hair salon! Kérastase and a pretty hair brush. We are so gracious for what she’s been teaching us about life, food, and dogs!
By the way, although my skinny fashion love, Kate Moss, is the new face of Kérastase, I think that Gwendolyn is much better suited. :) Don’t you agree?
We do hope that Becky loves her pressie. Furthermore, she has inspired our recent investment.
No. Not Gwendolyn. I’m already quite invested. ;) And not stock in Williams & Sonoma, although it might be a smart choice! Rather, in a dehydrator!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that’s 33 exclamation points). Because of Becky’s influence, I feel confident to concoct dishes without eating them in one sitting, and I look forward to nourishing this gorgeous body as it becomes my ideal of thin. I shall host Raw with Benefits parties for fam and friends! And I shall gift my favourite clients and friends with pretty packages of raw concoctions. I shall be the picture girl for health. I never do anything half way. And this is my new venture. Skinny. Pretty. And Raw… with benefits. ;) So very excited. Here is my gorgeous unit.
We could not snap a photograph, in store, because dogs are not allowed into the mall. But I snuck Gwendolyn. Of course. ;)
What is your dehydrating experience?

I want a dehydrator soooo sososo bad! It is essential for a raw lifestyle!! I cannot wait to see what you concoct and dammit I wish I lived near you to snag some goody bags!
Special ‘NicoleAndGwendolyn’ bags are currently being designed and shall happily ship to the other side of the country. ;)
How about the other side of the world? (;
When I wrote this, my head said, “hi, from the past, NZ, Australia, and EU!!! :) Swear on Gwendolyn. I am always thinking about my girls who live in the future. ;)
Yay!!
I would love to get a dehydrator someday! The raw cheese wrap sounds amazing too!
Ms. Scientist extraordinaire! A dehydrator you shall have, there is no doubt! 10:30pm and arriving to my second to last client of the evening (before my overnight commission). It’s gorgeous to know that I’ve earned every bit of that beautiful UL approved computerised machine. Stay tuned for gorgeous posts about my gorgeous concoctions:) xo
Hi, I’m pleased to read your happy post. And I’m very glad you found things that work for you. Also improving your new life style with some genuine ideas and purchases is admirable. Continue on!
PS you I’m still waiting for your reply on your previous post.
Uh oh!!! You mean the discussion between you and Jess? If so, I decided to allow that to be between you girls. But if you addressed me directly then I am sooo sorry for missing it! Mobile all day so will reply tonight. My apologies:):):) Bisous!
No, I understand Jess completely! I probably misunderstood
you because of this:
“Feb 22, 2013 @ 13:01
Love it.
Shall reply later on exactly why I did this post.”
I was looking for WHY I DID THIS POST, that’s all, sorry to bother, hun.
Explanation Here.
My apologies for forgetting to return!
Am flattered that someone cared to know the reason. :)
I was somewhat interested in dehydrators when I first came across them in health blogs, but then wrote them off because (A) I’m a student and my parents support me financially so the unit would probably rob me blind, and (B) I’m still struggling with my eating disorder and still at a point where I probably wouldn’t be able to resist gobbling up everything at a single sitting unless on an exceptionally good day. Dehydrated strawberries sound so delicious though! I wonder what the texture would be like. Let us know when you’ve made a batch and tried it!
I think your rationale is spot on perfect, gf. Stay away. Get a fancy pair of shoes instead, and keep those bulk nuts out of the house! :)
wow. Dehydrators intimidate me, but now that I think about it, they don’t intimidate me as much as looking up a recipe book and making something and putting it in the oven etc. The whole ceremony of cooking a meal. eek. Maybe I should look into a dehydrator too. :)I would love to dehydrate squash, sweet potatoes, etc and eat as chips! You can even make bread! http://www.choosingraw.com/adventures-in-raw-bread-making/
:)
Bisous!
Francoise
Stay tuned. Big developments on this dehydrator big idea. You will laugh so hard! ;)
You and Gwendolyn look so young, gorgeous, and happy! I’m going through a rough patch mentally/ED wise, but you and your girlie give me so much hope.
Rachel, I could not, for the life of me, find your gorgeous comment until now!!! But it’s been in my brain for two days!!! It’s been two fucking days, and I’ve finally found it. Please pardon my tardiness. :) When I moderated it, on Sunday, I was drinking wine! So I could not remember properly. But I have found it. And you lifted my heart to the ‘heavens’. Thank you for saying what you have said. Tonight at Lowe’s (Gwendolyn and I were shopping for batteries for smoke detectors), the clerk did not believe that Gwendolyn’s nearly six. Her teeth are bright white, her bod is lean and strong, and she wags her happy tail like a puppy. :) I need to take lessons from Gwendolyn. And I am SO sorry that you’re having ED head issues. Just remind yourself to fuck the head. The head is not your master. It’s a component of your total system. I am sending you a warm warm warm hug. Because I TOTALLY unconditionally understand. I WANT that extra package of cheesy vegan raw kale chips after brekkie. I WANT to eat and eat and eat after I’ve had a gorgeous lunch. But I am learning. And I am living. And I hope that you are, too. I want to know your age. But that is not necessary. Thank you for your comment. And thank you for reading. Mostly, thank you for your comment on Gwendolyn. :) xo
