If soup were a Burberry model, it would be this.
Do you notice the resemblance?
Hello, Creamy Mushroom Soup, otherwise known as Burberry Soup, otherwise known as today’s gorgeous breakfast!!!
It was intended to be last night’s dinner, but I had too many of these, never quite making it to the Vitamix, rather to the martini mix. ;)
Creamy Mushroom Soup, inspired by RawFoodRecipes.com.
Ingredients: 12 Ounces Mushrooms, 1 Medium Onion, 1 T Balsamic Vinegar, 1 Ripe Avocado, 1 Tomato, 1 Jalapeño, 1 1/2 Cups H20.
Snap a pretty picture of the non-mushrooms!
Layer everything into ze blender!
And go!
Pour the goop!
The final product was a bit soupier than I fancy, so during the next go, I shall eliminate 1/2 cup of water. To add some thickness on this round, I garnished with crisp organic celery. Delish!
My soup could definitely be a Burberry model… ;)
What do you think of Burberry, the fashion line… or my soup?

It sounds delicious, especially since my stomach has been raging a war on me so the only thing that sounds good is some kind of soup. I have a question regarding the food: do you miss it being warmer/hotter temperature wise? Or do you heat it up up to a certain temp? To me, some things are more satisfying hot than cold (with the exception of summer soups). Just curious.
The VitaMix is so speedy that it does, indeed, sort-of warm the soup, but my peppers provide that extra hot zing. Other than the processed vegan meats that I was eating on occasion, much of my food was cold – NuGo bars, hummus, veggies, etcetera. On occasion I’d cook a bag of veggies, but I always wanted to eat 3 bags worth! With this raw stint, there’s not even a thought about overrating bc I feel damn satisfied. I hope that you can fall in love with raw soups, too!!! Tonight is a spicy carrot. ;) xoxoxo
That soup totalllllyy resembles the Burberry colors haha! I HATE mushrooms..they make me want to gag! I have never tried them raw and souped up though, that I would try. I hate when they are slimy and mushy. God I just threw up in my mouth.
Brittany! Your comment made me laugh sooooooooo hard when I moderated it from a traffic light, earlier today!!! :D Seriously, so many thoughts flew through my head! Such as, “Bitch! You need to work in a mushroom cave for a year!” – seriously, I have a friend who did just that. But then I rationalised that you would be much better off working in a wine vineyard! Oh how lovely it would be for you to fall in love with wine… without thinking of the liquid cals, without feeling weird about the sensation… I am so curious to follow your health over the next decade! Perhaps you shall even develop a love affair with the shrooms! They are so damn good! xoxoxo :)
Your soup sounds yummy! I definitely see the resemblance to Burberry. ;)
It sounded and TASTED yummy!
Thank you for appreciating my fashion simile.
Mushroom soup is like a Burberry Model.
Indeed! :) xo
Burberry went through a really rough phase in the UK because so many Chavs (I don’t know if you have ‘Chavs’ in the US – they’re basically the British equivalent of white/trailer trash) were wearing fake Burberry everything. Burberry’s signature pattern became synonymous with a bunch of really vile people. However, from the photos you’ve posted Burberry has reclaimed its classy image (and then some).
I think you really do need a Vita for raw soups – your creations look far nicer than anything I could make in my ye olde blender (raw soups need to be smooth in my opinion, and mine were too chunky for my tastes). There is a stockist in the UK now so they’re not quite so expensive – time for me to start saving up :)
xxx
A couple of huge things!
1. I laughed SO HARD when you articulated ‘trailer trash.’ Hahaha! You are a little couture snobette, aren’t you? I knew that I didn’t love you just because of your ‘weirdo’ eating habits. :D
2. When I read “Vita,” I said, “What the fuck is a Vita?” And then I realised it.
I bow in embarrassment! But my martini has allowed me to divulge such intimate thoughts. ;)
xoxoxoxo
you know I’ve never tried raw mushroom soup, I have found the inevitable grey colour a bit offputting (i have never been a fan of the conventional shroom soups for that same reason) I must say, this little comparison makes it a hell of a lot more glamourous, but I think I’m going to stick to my beloved red peppers and cream of tomato soups for now. X
I just spent a fucking fortune on organic red peppers, just two hours ago!!! So you better give me access to your blog because right now it’s by approval only; and I do not have access, it seems! I need the damn recipe! :D Please and thank you! Mwah!
o, I didn’t know it was set like that, I thought I made it public again. Here’s the recipe:
3 medium red peppers, chopped
1/2 avocado
3/4 cup of coconut water or more until the desired consistency is reached (can be fully raw if you can get your hands on a fresh young coconut)
blend and serve with a smile
XXX
Blend, top and serve.
Delicious!!! Thank you so much for refreshing my memory on your gorgeous concoction!!!
I do enjoy soup, but it has to be really, really hot!!
I adore the Burberry brand..I feel so sad when I see a lot of the fake knock-offs in bizarre variations of Burberry colors, blah!!
I have one authentic Burberry scarf and I am in love with it!
Ps. Actually loved your new scent when I tried it yesterday..will get more, haha, when I go through the shopping centre today! xo
Knock offs are just that. Freaking knock offs!
In bags. Computes (non-Apple). And Humanity. :)
You and I are not knock offs.
And we can sense one, from a mile away.
I think that is why you read my blog, because you know that I am real.
And I am so happy that you are sensing my scent, from all the way across the world!!!
I really value your friendship. And Gwendolyn values Heathcliffe’s.
xo
I love this reply, Nicole. Thank you and you are right. We feel the same as you. J and H. Xxoo
It makes my heart very happy to know that you liked my reply! Just wanted to add that! xoxo
PS: Hi, Heathcliffe!
Hi Nicolette!
I think there is something very “ascetic”, bare, and spiritual about that soup and the way you nourish yourself. I hope you don’t mind mine saying that! Just make sure to never go below 1500 calories. Please. It will backfire very quickly and you’ll enjoy skinniness and health for a short amount of time only. But you know all that! I love Burberry of course. Out of courtesy and meekness, I will not state how many coats, jackets, and trench coats I have purchased from them in the last 2 years… Oh, and watches, too. But nothing interesting so far from the Spring collection. Good. The color of that soup resembles what Burberry calls the “Trench” color of their trench coats, a beige/stone color which is their original color before they branched out to other colors. The soup looks yummy to me, but I need it warm! But if you serve it to me, I will drink all of it and get additional servings!
Bisous!
Francoise
Your “if you will serve it to me, I will drink all of it and get additional servings” absolutely melted my heart!!! You are such a gorgeous friend to me!!! This soup is truly a soup that a gorgeous girl, living in a gorgeous flat, on gorgeous Park Avenue would serve to her guests. That is me. To a T. I hope that when I have my gorgeous flat, you shall visit me. And I promise NOT to bother you and to furthermore allow you FULL access to the kitchen so that you can nourish on your own, outside of my elegant dinner party. :) xoxoxo
That looks delish. I love mushroom soup!
It was very delicious. A tad thicker would have been my style. I like my soup like I do my men. ;) xoxo
Oh man, I am so envious of your new blender! I’ve been vegetarian for 6 years and have always wanted to try and go vegan. I am currently consuming too much dairy for my own good. The only thing that has been holding me back is how processed some vegan foods are (like fake cheese). Maybe raw vegan is the way for me to go!
Oh, mannn! The fake cheese and the fake chicken and the fake bla bla bla really had me going! For almost a year! I wasted so much money! So many calories! And so many LBs to stupid processed vegan fare! Never again! Stop that crap before it’s too late! :D That is my counsel to you. I am not raw vegan because I eat raw fish. Therefore, I am raw with benefits. ;) xo
Well, Lent starts tomorrow and dairy is the first thing to go! My complexion has been really shitty as of late, and I am hoping cutting out the dairy will help. I really don’t eat eggs (ew), so that won’t be a problem. :D
Dairy did it for me!!! I have model skin. ;) xo
Happy Birthday, Nicole! GAH! I’m so conflicted! You are obviously reaching for something. What? I don’t know. I hope in your birthday post next year things are different, I TRULY do. You look absolutely miserable. And the fact you get less than a dozen happy birthdays on your “successful blog” make it even more sad. This is your “business,” after all. I want to stop giving you page views, but that makes no sense. I never click on any of the links. Maybe your regular 6-12 commenters do. Hopefully that helps you in some way, but I doubt it.
Hello, Debbie Downer! What is your story, and what has prompted you to be so grumpy lumpy? If you weren’t so mean, I still wouldn’t feel bad for vous. ;) xo
Uhhmmmm, isn’t burberry for chavs? hasn’t it been for the last 10+ years? in that case, yes, your concoction looks very CHAV-ish. Have you ever been to ye old england? No? I bet you’ve seldom traveled anywhere.
BTW, your hands look straight up decrepit in your recent FB. Like dead decrepit. Can you please post about your ability to really “get better?” Right now you are doing no one with an ED any favors. You are a travesty, you won’t even admit your struggle. That’s cool, your “icon” had some dependency issues herself.
What happened to your “contributors?” You said there were 7.
Sonja was great til you counselled her to leave, and Sarah is an alkie if I’ve ever seen one, but she’s damn likable. Where are the other five? Living productive lives? Or disordered? Still following you with your mangled knuckles?
Are you the CEO of GOMI, trying to stir up traffic? ;)
No, dear nikki, I’m just commenting on that which you have posted. It literally looks like vomit. I’m writing this as a former bulilimic. You have since triggered me with your vomit photos. UGH. Thanks. You were an inspiration, kinda, until this. Do something right, for gwendolyn’s sake. Gross.
LOL. CEO you wish. ;) xo
word salad. you have it. blah blah blah.
you’ll always be my (perfect) short and stocky sister!
Aw! That’s so kind of you ‘stephie’! ;)
stephy and nikki are so gross. seriously nasty.bloat.
Thanks for your feedback!
