Nicolette! And you WILL get there. No point in losing weight quickly, being happy for a couple of months, and then gaining it back quickly plus some more after a few months. You want to be happy with your body on a permanent basis, not for 5-6 months! Just live your life, do yoga, walk, run, every day, and lose sight of what your body is doing for a few weeks. The next time you look, you will be happily surprised at the changes!
And seriously, I should not call my project as a “weight loss” project because it is not such. If I exist in my aesthetic greatness at 125, then I shall be happy with that. In fact, I was very happy at 117, 9 months after ending my bulimia. And then healthy lifestyle of yoga just kept the pounds rolling off. When I existed in that state of mind, it was not about weight loss. It was about everything but weight loss. It was about hiking in the forest with Gwendolyn for something other than calorie burn. It was about enjoying a bottle of wine on Sunday evening without conserving on the next day. It was about love. And I want that again. I hereby commit to reclaiming it. I love you! xoxoxo
I love this comment, too! The more you stress about weight, the harder it is to let go and lose it. Be happy, do yoga, run, walk, etc.- it WILL happen!
Nice try JSGeeee. A book is the correct answer. Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Selected Essays, Lectures, and Poems. In the essay called, um “Nature.” It’s in the first 50 pages of my copy, but it is upstairs on a shelf, and well, because I’ve just arrived home, I’m too damn tired to go upstairs and get it to tell you the exact page number, so you will simply have to take my word for it that I read. : )
Mama Cass you have time to read?? I’m impressed! Bright, well-read AND mentally agile in defense of little sista! Just wow. Tell me, do you have any books which instruct one on proper parking technique up there in that well-stocked library or do you just spend all your valuable time on the classics? Oh, and defending little sista from mean ole trolls, of course.
Thanks, Melissa. I’ve always prided myself on high achievement. It’s good to be the bet and/or biggest of something. Rev. Billy is my Ayn Rand….so I’m an Objectionist.
It’s in brackets bc I was quoting my best friend who emailed those words to me this morning. I think that she and I have identical brains. Her words are perfectly fitting for my new attitude. :)
You. Woman. Quoting Lennon. Hmh…imagine. It’s as if you want it to be just like starting over. As if we all had come together and your readers should give peace a chance? Stop the mind games? Try some real love? Well…it’d feel like a revolution. But I must admit: It might be alright, mama.
@JSG, At first, I thought you were Sir Henry. Cancel that. Then, I thought you were Fiona. Cancel that. Now, I am pretty sure that I know who you are, BFF of Beautiful Struggle. Your wannabe ghetto writing is too familiar, and your ability to hide behind a proxy is not questionable. Is it you? Admit to it, and I shall protect your identity.
Lainey is a nickname for Elaine. Bin was added by my younger sister wanting to have a special name for me that no one else would use. Now it’s a lovely name that my entire family, including my niece and nephews use as a form of endearment. Laineybin = love to me. Once again when confronted by something you don’t like/understand, you get mean. I have no idea why as my comment was neither.
I love his messages of peace.
And his music is fab. I like practicing yoga to it.
Just because a person maintains a different belief system doesn’t mean they’re devoid of quality.
I’m sure there’s something fab about you, too. Ah yes. I know it. You drive my blog traffico. ;) xo
While I think we all wish for instant perfection, long-term perfection takes time. But once there, life will be so much rosier :) Heres to a brand-spanking New Year full of success in all aspects of life including attaining the perfect physique.. P.S. I am also working on returning to the yoga mat to achieve this goal. Its been far too long!
I really hope that you maintain this positive attitude and take some time to celebrate the holidays with friends and family even if things are not “perfect” with your body.
This has become a boring post. It was never A-game content, being way less crazy and controversial than the usual fare here and Whack-a-doodle Central. (Hiya Mama Cass…hope canoodling with the dragon team over dim sum post-paddle has ungritted your teeth and eased that obvious IBS problem of yours. Maybe Anger Management classes would make the healing happen faster…)
What say, Nic, that you title your next post “The Pink Bunny Went Bzzzzzzzzzzz…” That should bring in the page views!
Yay for not dying!
You’re adorable:)
What a lovely metaphor :)
You may take longer to get your perfect body back, but once you do because of your methods you will have that perfect body for a lifetime.
xxx
Yes:)
:)
It’s really hard to be patient. But all the glamorous women are.
Love:)

A Ralph Waldo Emerson quote for you: “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” : )
Love:)
Google or Bing?
What the fuck does that mean, JSG?
And for the record, the only Bing that I know is Chandler… oh yes, and now Monica. ;)
Bahahaha.

Gorgeous.
You are gorgeous.
Your present should arrive by tomorrow!!!

JSG is the biggest douche ever.
Hahaha! :D

love it, BUT your insight is put between brackets. You’re not going to recant on us, are you lady? Most of all, I want you to be happy. XXX
It’s in brackets bc I was quoting my best friend who emailed those words to me this morning. I think that she and I have identical brains. Her words are perfectly fitting for my new attitude. :)
How many “new attitudes” are you going to go through in 2013? I’ve counted like 5 since August.
Maybe 9? It is my fave #. ;)
I’m singing that old Patti LaBelle song in my head now, “New Attitude” : )

Funny! And she’s quoting a socialist to boot!!
It’s true! Yes it is! Thank you, girl! You gimme some truth, Laineybin! But, dig it, I got a feelin’ she didn’t know.
Each time that I read your name, I think, “Lame Brain.” No joke.
An answer perfectly in keeping with the season of peace, joy and kindness.
Woman is the n-gger of the world!
Say what?
Uh, I Googled. Nevermind. I was just a titch shocked there for a second.
That Yoko…she’s a crazy sumbitch, ain’t she?

“wannabe ghetto”? Please don’t use negative racial terms! This is your warning!
You make me sick.

I am so very glad. That is all :)

JSG you are truly a disgusting presence. You sound like a snotty schoolgirl all the time.
I found a theme song for ya http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-VQKXOmA5Y
Love, love, love!!! I shan’t repose after my midnight nourish sans thinking of tu!!
I love this. I hope you and Gwendolyn have a wonderful Christmas!
